Local teams faring well at Lakeshore tourney

STEVENSVILLE – The Lake-shore Invitational is under way and several area teams are off to a good start.
In the U8 Division, Howard Township defeated Bridgman in its opening game. No score was provided.
Also in the U8 Division are Dowagiac and Buchanan. They are playing in Pool B. Howard Township is in Pool A.
Howard will play again tonight against New Buffalo.
9-10 Baseball
Brandywine-Searles defeated Howard Township in its first game in Pool A, 9-4.
Howard Township is back in action tonight at 6:30 against North Lincoln 9s.
Brandywine-Jordan had its game against Berrien Springs postponed due to weather Wednesday night. It has been tentatively rescheduled for 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Brandywine-Searles is also scheduled to play on Saturday as it takes on North Lincoln at 2:30. Brandywine-Jordan also had a game against St. Joseph scheduled for 5 p.m. on Saturday.
11-12 Baseball
Brandywine's 11-year-olds were defeated by Lakeshore on Tuesday, 9-4.
The Brandywine 12-year-olds dropped a 12-0 decision to Lakeshore on Wednesday night.
The Brandywine 11s are back in action tonight against North Lincoln's 11-year-olds at 6. Brandywine will also play at 11 a.m. on Saturday against South Haven.
The Brandywine 12-year-olds will play at 5 p.m. on Saturday against Bridgman and again at 7 p.m. against South Haven.
Bracket play will begin Sunday morning in all divisions. Championship games will be played on Monday at 6 p.m., 6:30 and 8.
