The Hershey Summer Track Program returned to Cassopolis thanks to the Christ Temple Church.
A total of 19 runners from Cass qualified for the state meet, which was held July 6 in Holt.
Placing in the top eight in their age groups were:
Sheridan Curry (11-12), who was fourth in the softball throw
Jaleesa Garner (9-10), who was sixth in the 400-meters
Meagan Ruff (11-12), who was sixth in the 400-meters
Ruff, Milyn Briggs, Janae Butts and Curry (11-12), who were second in the 400-meter relay
Micha Welch (9-10), who was third in the 50-meters and seventh in the 100-meters
Anderson Lee (13-14), who was ffith in the 800-meters
"This is a great event for these young people and we're so proud of all of you," Lisa Thomas said. "We would like to thank all of our volunteers and parents for their support of this event. We do look forward to next year as many of the young people we hope will return and participate."
