Eaton Park wraps up tournament Monday

ST. JOSEPH – Buchanan captured a pair of championships at the Eaton Park Invitational on Monday.
Buchanan defeated Brandywine-Duval 8-4 to capture the Peanut League B Division crown, while Buchanan-Thomas edged Bloomingdale 3-1 to win the Little League B championship.
In the other title games, Granger defeated Lakeshore 6-2 (Peanut A), Lakeshore blanked Dowagiac 2-0 (Minor A), North Lincoln defeated St. Joseph 11-10 (Minor C), Watervliet edged Berrien Springs 7-6 (Minor B), North Lincoln edged Lakeshore 5-4 (Little C), North Lincoln defeated Lakeshore 11-0 (Little A) and Berrien Springs blanked Decatur 15-0 (Pony).

Buchanan reached the championship game by defeating New Buffalo twice.
Brandywine-Duval won its first game against Bridgman and then defeated Berrien Springs in the semifinals.
Buchanan also faced Hartford and Three Oaks. Brandywine also faced Berrien Springs and Hartford.
Scott Miller hit a home run for Brandywine in the bottom of the sixth on Monday night.
Little League B
Buchanan opened the tournament with a win over Hartford and then faced Brandywine and Hartford-Traver to get into the finals. Bloomingdale was a loser in its first game, but continued on in the tournament, facing Hartford-Nichols and Bridgman.
Minor League A
The two teams that opened the tournament – Dowagiac and Lakeshore – closed it Monday night as they met for the Eaton Park Invitational Minor League A Division title.
Lakeshore sent Dowagiac into the consolation bracket with a 12-5 victory over the 10-year-old All-Star team in the opening round of the tournament.
But on Monday night, Lakeshore had to work for the victory as it came away with a 2-0 decision and the title.
