CASSOPOLIS – Cass County Sheriff Joseph Underwood Jr. reports his office investigated an accident with injuries on Saturday at 12:07 a.m. on M-51, just north of Dowagiac.
Evidence at the scene as well as statements from witnesses indicate Timothy Edgerly, 22, of Hartford, and his passenger Jessica Carnes, 20, of Niles, were northbound on M-51 when they struck a truck driven by Larry Graham, 53, of Dowagiac, and his passenger Linda Davis, 56, of Dowagiac, that was stopped in the southbound lane of traffic.
Edgerly was transported to Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital in Dowagiac to be treated for injuries.
None of the passengers of either vehicle were injured in the accident, nor was Graham. Edgerly was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident, but all others were.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the accident, the sheriff reported.
Also assisting on scene were Dowagiac Police Department and Life ambulance.
The accident remains under investigation at this time.
