Reds win Greater Niles Little League Senior Division championship

NILES – In the scorching hot 92-degree weather on Sunday, the 2007 Great Niles Little League Senior Division ended its regular season with the Reds winning a doubleheader over the Tigers.
The Reds finished the season in first place, followed by the Royals and the A's.

The Reds banged out 14 hits in the opening game, led by Derrick Vigansky's four hits.
The Reds also got two hits from Justin Stroud, while Will Coar, A.J. Moore, Taylor Ort, Dan Reidenbach and Cody Stroud also added hits.
Tyler Jackson was the winning pitcher. Cameron Smallman took the loss.
Zeke Legus had two hits for the Tigers, while Jon Norton had the other hit.

The Reds finished with 11 hits in the second game and 25 for the doubleheader at Thomas Stadium.
Ort had a home run and a double, while Reidenbach added a triple for the Reds, who also got doubles from Anthony Gladden and Dominique Pompey.
Gladden finished with two singles, as did Jackson. Coar and Vigansky both finished with a hit.
Pompey was the winning pitcher.
The Tigers got a double from Wayne Marazita and two singles from Legus. Grooms contributed a single.
Marazita took the loss for the Tigers.

Jesse McCombs was one hit short of a cycle as he singled, doubled and tripled to help the Reds to a 21-1 victory.
The Reds, who finished with 18 hits, also got three doubles from Cory Johnson. Tyler Jackson and Taylor Ort both doubled, while Justin Stroud, Will Coar and Kyle Stroud all had two hits.
McCombs picked up the victory, while Zeke Legus suffered the loss.
The Reds had just three hits, led by Sam Whittaker, who had two singles. Cameron Smallman added the other hit.

Ort and Stroud both doubles for the Reds, who also got Johnson, Coar and McCombs all added two singles.
Coar picked up the victory, while Smallman took the loss.
The Tigers again only had three hits, led by Art Gaul doubled and drove in two runs. Whittaker and Aaron Grooms both singled.

Ricky Briand and Derek Nichols both doubled for the Royals and Brad Richey singled twice as the Royals picked up the 8-3 victory.
Nichols earned the mound victory.
Gaul and Wayne Marazita both doubled and singled for the Tigers, who also got singles from Jon Norton and Legus. Whittaker took the loss.

Cameron Sly tripled and Brent Gillispie doubled as the A's defeated the Royals 15-1.
Kevin Gross and Alex Bellaire each added singles.
Smallman picked up the win for the A's, while Nichols suffered the loss.
Ethan Mead had two hits for the Royals. Briand, Ritchey and Josh Smith all singled.

Kevin Gross tripled and Ralph Sader doubled for the A's, who defeated the Royals, 15-4.
Gillispie added a single.
The Royals got a triple from Jack Gerber and a double from Ritchey. Briand contributed a single.

Ort earned the mound victory and added a single. Also picking up hits were Johnson, Anthony Gladden and Derek Viganski.
