BUCHANAN – First United Methodist Church and Faith United Methodist Church are joining forces to sponsor a sports camp for youth grade 5 and up.
The camp will be held July 20-25 (Monday through Thursday) and Monday July 30 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Each of the days will feature a different Christian athlete, a sport and the basic rules for play, devotions and simple refreshments. Monday, July 30, the group will go to Coveleski Stadium in South Bend, Ind. and watch the South Bend Silver Hawks play.
Monday will feature soccer under the coaching of Pastor Rob MacPherson. Tuesday will be golf led by Lonnie Hoover. Wednesday will be basketball directed by Andrew Bachleda.
Ollen Baldwin will share the fine points of fishing on Thursday.
Camp Director is Wayne Boor. Registrar is Martha Shreve. Pastors MacPherson and Chris Kirchow complete the steering committee for this project.
