Mystique now 3-6

NILES – The Michiana Mystique went 1-4 over the weekend, defeating only the Grand Rapids Diamonds.
The Mystique defeated the Diamonds 6-1 in the opening game of the tournament.
The Mystique were then defeated by the Lemond Rockers (7-4), Orland Park Sparks (7-3) and the Diamonds (3-1).

Erin Burleson was the winning pitcher as she improved to 3-0 on the season. Maggie Ernsberger and Nicole Nickoson both had two hits for the Mystique.
Ernsberger homered, singled and drove in a run, while Nickoson singled, doubled and was credited with two RBIs.

Briannne Widmayer suffered the loss for the Mystique, who are 3-6 on the season.
Nellie Coquillard homered and drove in three runs for the Mystique, who also got doubles from Chelly Gaeddert and Kelci Garcia.
Sparks…7

Burleson suffered her first loss of the season against the Sparks.
Coquillard doubled and drove in a run, while Nickoson and Ernsberger were also credited with RBIs. Nickoson, Gaeddert and Breanna Shannon all had two hits for the Mystique.
Diamonds…3
Mystique…1
Despite out hitting the Diamonds 7-4, the Mystique came up two runs short in their final game of the tournament. Widmayer took the loss for the Mystique.
Coquillard had two hits, including a double. Garcia drove in the team's lone run.
The Mystique will next compete in the Colorado Sparkler tournament in Denver, Colo.
