NILES – The Friends of Silverbrook would like your help.
On Saturday, from 9 a.m. to noon, the group will meet at the Receiving Vault in Silverbrook Cemetary for a paint party.
If you like to paint and would like to do a section of the wrought iron fence on Cherry Street, come lend a helping hand.
Painting supplies will be there, as well as latex gloves. Please bring something to sit on.
Also, a reminder that the monthly meeting will be held on Thursday, June 21 at 7 p.m. at the Law Enforcement Complex.
The Friends of Silverbrook Cemetery have been hard at work, fixing head stones, fences and any other items that have needed attention brought to them. What makes Friends of Silverbrook so special is the fact they they are doing this on a voluntary basis, all because they not only want to see the cemetery in excellent condition, but to keep the rich history of the grounds alive.
Silverbrook Cemetery was founded in 1836, making it older than the State of Michigan.
