Sports Fest begins Sunday

NILES – Athletes from around southwest lower Michigan and northern Indiana will gather at Bethel College on Sunday for the opening ceremonies of Sports Fest 2007.
The ceremonies at the Mishawaka, Ind. campus are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
Competition will begin on Monday, June 18 with first round games in volleyball, baseball, softball and tennis.
Michigan will take on Indiana Metro in the first round. In the other first round match up, Indiana East will take on Indiana West.
Tennis will begin at 5 p.m., baseball and softball will both get under way at 5:30 p.m. and Michigan's volleyball All-Stars will play at 6 p.m.
Michigan will play its first round match ups in girls' basketball and girls' soccer on Tuesday at 6 p.m. Boys' tennis will also hit the court for its first round matches at 5 p.m.
Boys' soccer and basketball for the Michigan All-Stars will take center stage on Wednesday. Both teams will play at 6 p.m.
Thursday, June 21 will be championship day in volleyball, baseball, softball, soccer and tennis.
Tennis for both girls' and boys' will be contested at 5 p.m. The baseball and softball championship games are slated to begin at 5:30 p.m.
The girls' soccer championship match will begin at 6 p.m., while the boys' title match is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m.
The championship match in volleyball is slated to begin at 7 p.m.
Basketball will contest its championship games on Friday, June 22.
The girls' game will be played at 6 p.m. and the boys' game at 8 p.m.
Sports Fest will wrap up on Saturday, June 23 with the second year of football.
Indiana East and Indiana West will play at Marian High School at 5 p.m., while Michigan will take on the Metro All-Stars at 7 p.m.
There is no charge for the opening ceremonies. Tickets are $5 for all other sports.
