Thomas Stadium was the place to be on Friday night to watch Little League Baseball.
The top two teams in the Junior Division (13-14-year-olds) battled it out to the last inning.
The Yankees scored four runs in the first inning, aided by the single of Nick Phillips, and two runs batted in by the single of Josh Brawley.
It wasn't until the fourth inning when the Rangers came alive.
Brian Exner started the inning with a single followed by a couple of walks. With bases loaded and only one out, Riley Robson doubled, bringing in two runs for the Rangers.
Mike Schoenlebor and Brendon Nichols each singled to bring home a run.
The Yankees got into some power hitting of their own. Singles by Tyler Mead, Mitch Peterek, and Nick Phillips were followed by back-to-back doubles of Dustan Craig and Kelvin Tweedy.
The score became 8-5 in favor of the Yankees going into the last inning.
The Rangers never gave up as Nathan Oates singled, Dustin Bell sacrificed and Austin Searles doubled bringing them within a run of the Yankees.
Regulation time allowed the Yankees to score two more runs, ending the game with a final score of 10-7.
