NILES – If you're a fan of CMT's hit show 'Trick My Truck,' you'll get a chance to experience the Chrome Shop Mafia's work up close and personal.
On Thursday, Express-1, an expediting company located in Buchanan, along with a number of other sponsors, will give area residents a chance to view a super-truck tricked out by the mafia.
"We're involved with the Expedite Expo, so we were given a chance to pick a day and host the event," Express-1 president Mike Welch said.
Thursday's event, which will take place at JD's Truck Stop, will give fans of the show a chance to see a tricked out truck and even enter a drawing for a chance to win the class 8 ride.
"You must have a Class A CDL license in order to register. Entry forms can be filled out at JD's the day of the event," Welch said.
Twelve lucky finalists will be given a key, with only one starting the truck. The final drawing will take place at the Expedite Expo in Wilmington, Ohio, on July 27 and 28. The Expedite Expo is a great way to find out everything you need to know about the expedited trucking industry. At the expo, more than 100 exhibitors will be at the show to demonstrate their products, answer questions and talk about the particular needs of a fleet/owner operator operation.
"Pepsi, Trip-Pak, Marathon Oil, Speedco and Pro Trucker magazine are also involved with this event, so it will be quite a big deal," Welch said. "This isn't just a great way to promote our company. It's a great way to promote the entire freight industry and we want people to become more familiar with it."
Welch said there will be a number of other great prizes for people who don't have a CDL to win, including a signed Dale Waltrip car hood, MP3 players and many other great giveaways.
B100 will also be doing a live remote from the site, which will also feature a hog roast and a number of other venders.
The public is welcome to join in the event, which begins at noon. For more information on the truck giveaway or the Expedite Expo, visit www.expediteexpo.com
