EDWARDSBURG – Ontwa Township-Edwardsburg Police Chief Kenneth W. Wray reports his department is investigating a traffic collision about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, which took the lives of two young Vandalia men.
A 1995 Saturn four-door was being driven north on Conrad Road in Cass County's Ontwa Township by Morris Bullocks II, 18, of Paradise Lake Road, Vandalia.
Bullocks stopped his car at the intersection of U.S. 12, then proceeded, driving into the path of a westbound 1998, Chevrolet pickup driven by Matt Ferry, 27, of M-62, Eau Claire.
Bullocks' vehicle was struck on the passenger side. Both vehicles rolled and came to rest off the roadway and northwest of the intersection.
Both Bullocks and a passenger, John Young III, 19, of Wood Street, Vandalia, had to be extricated from the vehicle by the Edwardsburg Fire Department and Edwardsburg Ambulance Service.
Both were pronounced dead at the scene, Wray reported.
Ferry sustained minor injuries, but was not transported from the scene by ambulance.
All occupants were wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision.
Speed and alcohol are not believed to be factors in this crash.
Edwardsburg Fire Department, Edwardsburg Ambulance Service and officers from the Cass County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene.
