Districts begin Tuesday

NILES – The baseball, softball and soccer district tournaments will kick off Tuesday evening around the state of Michigan.
The Niles varsity soccer team will open the Division 2 tournament at home against St. Joseph at 5 p.m. The winner will travel to St. Joe on Thursday, May 31 and face the winner of the Mattawan/Vicksburg contest.
In Division 3 action, Buchanan, Dowagiac and Edwardsburg will all travel to Parchment.
Brandywine will head to Bridgman for the Division 4 tournament, along with St Joseph-Lake Michigan Catholic, St Joseph-Michigan Lutheran and River Valley.
Another showdown will take place on the softball field as Niles and Lakeshore will meet in the opening round of the Division 2 tournament on the Lancers' home field.
The two will face-off at 4:30 p.m. with the winner advancing to play St. Joe in the semifinals on June 2.
Lakeshore defeated Niles twice just this week in regualr season play.
In Division 3 softball, Brandywine and Buchanan both drew first round byes and will not play until Saturday, June 2 at approximately 12 p.m. at River Valley High School.
The winner will face the winner of the Bridgman/River Valley game at 2 p.m.
In Division 2 baseball, Lakeshore will host the Vikings in Stevensville at 4:30 p.m.
The winner advances to take on St. Joseph in the first semifinals on June 2 at 10 a.m.
Dowagiac and Edwardsburg will play at approximately 12:30 p.m.
Bridgman and River Valley will open the Division 3 baseball tournament, hosted by the Mustangs.
The two will go head-to-head on Tuesday, May 29 at 5:30 p.m .
The winner will take on Berrien Springs Saturday, June 2, 30 minutes after the first game.
Brandywine and Buchanan drew first round byes, leaving the two to face each other on Saturday, June 2 at 10 a.m.
The winner will advance to the finals to face the Berrien Springs-Bridgman/River Valley winner 30 minutes after the semifinals.
