Two veterans to lead parade in Buchanan Monday

BUCHANAN – Two Buchanan veterans of different wars will serve as officials for the Buchanan Memorial Day parade and program Monday, May 28, sponsored by American Legion Post 51.
Richard Post, a World War II veteran, will serve as parade marshal, while Larry Money, a Vietnam veteran, will deliver the Memorial Day address at Veterans' Circle in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
The parade will form up at 9 a.m. at Post 51 and step off at 10 a.m., following a route along Front Street and Terre Coupe to the cemetery.
Post served with the U.S. Navy Seabees in Pacific Theatre at the Naval Air Station on Maui and in the Philippine Islands.
He is a 50-year member of the American Legion Post 51 and a life-member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 3102.
Post also served eight years on the Buchanan Community Schools Board, including as president.
He was co-owner with his father of Post Products, a partner in Buchanan Metalform and owner of True Value Hardware, all in Buchanan.
He and his wife, Anna Mae, have been married 60 years. They are the parents of four children, six grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Money served with the U. S. Army Special Forces in Vietnam.
He currently serves as commander of Post 51 and is chairman of the Department of Michigan law enforcement and student trooper committees. Money also is past 2nd Zone commander, state department historian and 4th District committeeman. He also is a member of VFW Post 3102.
