NILES – Niles' varsity soccer team handed Benton Harbor an 11-0 loss Monday evening in Big 16 West Division action.
The Vikings were led by the senior crew of Nicole Brooks, Abby Mitchell, Tierria Murphy, Gyde Nissen, Amanda Pingel and Raphaella Riegger. The seniors began the scoring effort with an unassisted goal from Riegger. Nissen added the second with an assist from Brooks.
Brooks was next in scoring with an assist from Mitchell. Nissen also scored with an assist from Mitchell and Mitchell scored on a penalty kick.
Pingel scored with a shot from the deep middle, while Tierria Murphy scored from the left wing with an assist from Mitchell. Junior Bree Donahue scored on a penalty kick, Stephanie Kolloff scored on an assist from Rachael Smith and Beth Miller scored on an assist from Rachael Smith.
Chioma Ejiofor played strong for the Vikings at striker.
Niles will play St. Joe on Tuesday, May 29 in the first district match.
