CASSOPOLIS – Investigators from Cass County, Berrien County and Van Buren County sheriff's offices, along with the Southwest Commercial Auto Recovery Team and the FBI, St. Joseph, executed a search warrant at 56882 Sink Road, north of Dowagiac, at approximately 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 17.
An investigation begun by the Berrien County Sheriff's Office led detectives to believe that the subject living at the Cass County residence had numerous stolen vehicles and firearms in his residence.
A search warrant was then obtained from this information.
Upon service of the warrant, investigators discovered a stolen boat, ATV, tractor, trailers and other vehicles taken from all three counties, along with more than 30 firearms.
Evidence was also discovered that implicated the suspect in the following ATM robberies:
The Michigan State Police Southwest Commercial Auto Recovery Team (SCAR, a team funded by the Auto Theft Prevention Authority) will be charging the subject with operating a vehicle "chop shop" as it was discovered that the subject was cutting up some of the stolen vehicles.
Charges are also being brought against the subject in all three counties on various stolen property and weapons charges.
The subject was lodged in the Van Buren County jail on charges related to the above ATM robbery.
His name will be released after arraignment on Friday, May 18.
