Berrien County Cancer Service Bike Ride June 24

STEVENSVILLE – The Berrien County Cancer Service is proud to announce the kick-off of the 12th Annual 2007 Berrien County Cancer Service Bike Ride,
This year, the ride will feature the brand new 100K "One Hill of a Ride," taking riders over several hills. A 42-mile route will follow the 100K route, but will miss some of the bigger hills. Th 25 and 15 miles routes are designed for family riders and will be on relatively flat terrain.
Riders will ride up at least one hill so they can proudly wear their "One Hill of a Ride" T-shirts.
BCCS is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation providing skilled in-home nursing care free of charge for people of Berrien County who have a cancer diagnosis. BCCS also has a loan equipment closet, wig and prosthesis bank, holds weekly support groups for patients and their families and sells commercial ostomy appliances at cost. The Cancer Service is funded by the local United Ways as well as private donations, memorials and fund-raisers.
During 2006, 619 people were helped with almost 5,000 hands-on services including over 3,100 nurse visits. All funds raised remain in Berrien County to help local people.
The bike ride will depart and arrive on Sunday, June 24 from the Berrien County Cancer Service in Stevensville. Riders may hit the route between 7 a.m. and noon. All riders must be off the route by 4 p.m. Sag stops with free, healthy refreshments will be spread throughout the course and sag wagons will follow the ride to provide emergency support for both riders and bicycles.
The cost is $15 for an individual or $30 for a family with T-shirts available for purchase for $15.
