NILES – On May 6, Warren Watson Jr. qualified again as a member of Team Michigan at the Michigan Freestyle State Championships. The tournament was held in Battle Creek at the Kellogg Arena.
Watson moved up this year to the Junior age division (16-18 years-old), after winning last year's Cadet Division. He placed second in the 140-pound weight class, which included 14 wrestlers.
The bracket included two returning state champions in Junior freestyle and two state placers in Michigan High School Folk Style.
