Fun day will attract youth

NILES – The Niles Spring Fling and Youth Performing Arts Festival will bring youth talent to the stage this weekend.
This is the eighth year for the Spring Fling, which features the youth of Niles performing on the Niles Riverfront Amphitheater stage, sponsored by the Riverfront Optimist Club of Niles.
The day will kick off with the Four Flags Garden Clubs Spring Plant Sale from 8:30 a.m. until noon.
The IDDFAR 5K run and walk will be held at 11 a.m. with registration at 10. The cost to participate is $20 and all the proceeds to toward a scholarship fund and toward the Ferry Street School Project. It's a great way to get some exercise, enjoy the Riverfront Park and help out a great community fund raising event. For more information call 684-8126.
The youth performing arts portion will be from noon until 2:30 p.m.
There will be a demonstration by the ATA Black-belt Academy at 2:30 p.m.
From 3 until 8 p.m., many local bands will perform including, Schwa, Voo-Ja-De, Ninth Street Bridge and Bad Influence. This is a great opportunity to see some of the new bands on the scene at no charge.
