Next week, students will be tuned in to see if their Edwardsburg teacher, Rob Wright of Cassopolis, "wins big" on "Who Wants to be a Millionaire."
Wright, a 34-year-old Edwardsburg Middle School science teacher and coach will be a hot seat contestant.
He won't though be seated opposite Meredith Vieira, the Emmy Award-winning host of the popular show.
Television personality, Tom Bergeron, was asked to serve as a celebrity guest host for the hit game show, May 14 through May 18.
During next week, Bergeron will occupy the host chair, which has been manned by Vieira since "Millionaire's" syndication launch in 2002. He will ask the trivia questions of contestants who each hope to walk away with the top prize of $1 million.
Locally, "Millionaire" can be seen on WNDU Channel 16. (NBC, Monday through Friday at 12:30 p.m.)
Wright will be questioned by guest host Bergeron, on Monday, May 14 and Tuesday, May 15.
Wright is a 1991 graduate of Ross Beatty High School in Cassopolis.
He is the son of Ken Wright and Jeanne Schaeffer, also of Cassopolis.
He married his high school sweetheart, Tonya and they have a one-year-old son named Brady.
At the Middle School in Edwardsburg, Wright is a science teacher. He is also the head coach of the football and basketball teams at the middle school.
Wright put a sign in his classroom saying "Play Like a Champion Today," just like the one in the University of Notre Dame football team locker room. His students touch the sign before they enter Rob's classroom.
His football team was undefeated this season. For his appearance on the game show, Wright brought his guest host a signed football from his 'team of champs.'
Wright said that if he won big on "Millionaire," he would pay for his son's college, pay off his and his wife's student loans and take a family vacation.
