Niles JV sweeps St. Joe

NILES – Billy Siderits got the win on the mound in game one as the Niles junior varsity baseball team swept host St. Joseph Tuesday evening, 11-10 and 5-3.
Siderits is now 7-0 on the season.
Anthony Gladden led Niles at the plate going 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs.
Dominique Pompey and Cody Maynard also hit doubles for the Vikes.
In the nightcap, Tommy Flynn (6-1) picked up the win with relief from Tyler Jackson who recorded his third save. Pompey led the Viking offense going 2-for-3 and hitting his fifth home run of the season.
Alec Taylor and Andrew Brawley both went 2-for-4 at the plate. Also getting hits for Niles were Gladden, Justin Stroud and Luciano Villigas.
Niles, now 17-4, returns to action on May 15 hosting Mattawan at Thomas Stadium.
