Bobcats take top spot

NILES – Saturday's Centreville Invitational had success written all over it for the Brandywine boys' track team.
The Bobctas blew past the competition, scoring 150 points to earn first place on the day. Colon was the closest team, as it scored 87 points for a second place finish. The tournament featured eight teams overall.
Justin Price was named Male Athlete of the Meet, as he took first place in the 800- and 3,200-meter relays and in the 400-meter dash. Price also earned a second place finished in the 1,600-meter relay.
In the 400-meter dash, Price posted a time of 52.10 in the second and third heats, allowing him the first place finish.
Tyler Weedon, Brian Wieger and Ricky Wood earned first with Price in the 3,200 relay as they posted a time of 8:33.20.
J.D. Miller, Brett Gilpin and Caleb Frazier, along with Price, posted a time of 1:34.70 in the 800-relay.
Gilpin took first in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.90. Matt Duckett was third with a time of 17.50.
Wieger took first in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 4:43.90. He also posted a tim of 2:05.90 for a second place finish in the 800-meter run.
Kyle Jones took third place in the shot put with a throw of 41-feet-75. Jones took second in the discus with a throw of 114-7.
Frazier was thir d in the high jump as he cleared 6-1.
In the girls' meet, the Lady Bobcats finished seventh with a score of 27.
Michelle Smith took first place in the pole vault, clearing 7-6.
Ashley Harrell took second in the 3,200-meter run with a time of 13:25.10.
Both the boy and girls' teams are back in action this afternoon as they head to Buchanan for a Lakeland Confernce meet set for 4:30 p.m.
