NILES – It took over two hours and 11 innings for a winner to be decided in Friday evening's game between the Niles varsity softball team and Mishawaka's JV team.
In the end, the Cavemen walked away with a 1-0 win, when a Mishawaka player rocked the ball to center field, allowing another teammate on base to score.
The Vikes were preparing to take on Mishawaka's varsity team, which is hosting the Mishawaka Invite, later Friday night.
