Niles tennis team grabs 6-2 win over Harper Creek

NILES – Niles' varsity tennis team hosted and defeated Battle Creek Harper Creek Wednesday afternoon for a SMAC Cross Over match.
The Vikings claimed a 6-2 victory over the Beavers, with its only two losses coming and No. 2 and 3 singles.
Julian Freas and Nate Fink fell in two tough matches for Niles. Freas won the first set, 6-3, but fell to opponent Austin Brunner in the next two, 6-4, 6-2.
Jacob Bronsink handed Fink a 6-2, 6-3 loss at the No. 3 spot.
Winning matches for the Vikes were Danny Rodts (No. 1 singles) who posted a 6-3, 6-3 win over Brian Roth. Josh Pugh defeatd Daniel Wilkins, 6-1, 6-1 and No. 4 singles.
Jordan Parks and Zak Herrmann (No. 1 doubles) handed Tyler Bright and Nick Vaive a 6-7, 6-1, 6-3 loss.
Tad Raven and Zach Payne took a 6-1, 7-5 win at No. 2 doubles against Cory Kinne and Gabe Lepper.
Scott Bailey and Julius Roessner defeated Daniel Adamson and Jacob Odden, 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3 doubles, while Jon Rothfuchs and Kyle Lee grabbed a 6-2, 7-6 win at No. 4 doubles against Kevin Gargis and Mitch Burdick.
