NILES – The Edwardsburg boys and girls track track teams both claimed wins over Buchanan Wednesday afternoon in a Lakeland Conference meet.
The boys' team defeated the Bucks 95-31, while the Lady Eddies claimed a 68-56 victory.
Taking second place for Buchanan's boys team were Jeff Kruchkow in the 100-meter hurdles; Clinton Orr in the 100-meter dash and the 200-meter dash; Jon Young in the 1,600-meter run; Allan Morse in the 800-meter run; and Ricky Reith in the 3,200-meter run.
Placing first for the girls' team were Anna Callahan in the high jump; Liz Hein, Alyssa Kruchkow, Torie Eger and Lindsey Borr in the 3,200-meter relay; Hein in the 1,600-meter run; Borr in the 400-meter dash; Kruchkow in the 800-meter run; Emily Lakin in the 200-meter dash; Eger in the 3,200-meter run; and Borr, Lakin, Nicole Rutherford and Callahan in the 1,600-meter relay.
Second place finishers for the Lady Bucks were Borr in the long jump; Eger in the 1,600-meter run; and Hein in the 3,200-meter run.
The Bucks will compete in another conference meet on Monday when they host Brandywine at 4 p.m.
