Vikes rocked by Berrien

NILES – Niles' varsity baseball team met with 2006 state champion Berrien Springs Monday evening for a pair of non-conference games.
The Shamrocks claimed two over the Vikings, winning the first game 6-3 and the second 11-7.
Joe Krugh was the winning pitcher for Berrien in game one, while Tim Hardy suffered the loss.
At the plate, Dustin Anderson went 2-for-4 with two singles for the Vikes.
In the nightcap, Matt Baker claimed the win on the mound for the Shamrocks, while Jeff Jurgonski suffered the loss.
Top hitters were Dan Holland with a double, Anderson with two doubles, DJ Wolnik had a single and a double and Mike Simpson added a double and a triple.
Niles is on the road again today, traveling to Battle Creek lakeview for a doubleheader. First game is set for 4 p.m.
