John M. Birt, 92, of South Third Street, Niles, died at 5:15 p.m. on Friday, April 27, 2007 at West Woods of Niles, following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 3, at Trinity Episcopal Church, Niles, with the Rev. Steven L. Schuneman of Saint Timothy's Episcopal Church in Griffith, Ind., officiating. Committal services will follow at Silverbrook Cemetery in Niles.
The family will receive relatives and friends for visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Halbritter Funeral Home, also in Niles.
Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to the Trinity Episcopal Church Organ Fund.
