Wieger, Carlson will lead Brandywine graduates

NILES – Valedictorian Brian Wieger and Salutatorian Elizabeth A. Carlson will lead the Brandywine High School Class of 2007.
Brandywine will hold commencement exercises on Sunday, June 2, at 2 p.m. in the Brandywine High School gymnasium.
Rounding out the Top 10 are Caralyn A. Shelton, Adam Bruni, Amanda Oswald, Rachel Longden, Thomas Rudolf, Krystal Ely, Matthew Duckett and Justin Price.
Valedictorian Brian Wieger
Wieger is the son of George and Kathy Wieger.
During school, he has participated in the Berrien County Math/Science Center, National Honor Society President, Spanish Honor Society, Rotary Student of the Month, National Honor Roll, Board of Education Academic Award.
Wieger has participated in varsity cross county (1st team all-Conference); varsity soccer-captain; varsity track and field (captain, 1st team all-Conference)
In his community, Wieger has been involved in St. Mary's Church (altar server, youth group, church renovation volunteer); United Way Student Representative, Niles Children's Fun House volunteer.
He plans to attend the University of Michigan and study chemical or nuclear engineering.
Salutatorian Elizabeth A. Carlson
Carlson is the daughter of Don and Debra Carlson
During school, she has participated in National Honor Society as vice president, Spanish Honor Society, president of class in Junior and Senior years, Rotary Student of the month, National Honor Roll, Board of Education Academic Award
Carlson has participated in varsity cheerleading (captain), varsity softball, junior varsity volleyball.
In her community, she has been involved in American Red Cross, Niles-Brandywine Girls' Softball Association, Faith Rescue Mission.
She plan to attend Michigan State University and study secondary education in English.

Caralyn A. Shelton
Shelton is the daughter of Joseph and Deborah Shelton.
During school she has participated in National Honor Society, Berrien County Math/Science Center, Nortre Dame Microbiology lab intern, Arts &Science Expo participant, Board of Education Academic Award.
Her community involvement includes We-Can-Ride 4H Club, Friends of the Niles District Library, Midwest Energy Co-op Youth Tour in Washington D.C. and Teen Days Program, Barn Swallow Theatre Production.
She plans to attend Michigan State University and study Psychology, Math, Education, or Research
Adam Bruni
Bruni is the son of Matt and Lisa Bruni.
During school, he participacted in Presidential Academic Excellence and MEAP Scholarship.
He also participated in track and field (3 years), cross country (1 year).
His community involvement includes the Niles Children's Spook House
Bruni plans to attend Michigan State University to study veterinary medicine.
Amanda Oswald
Oswald is the daughter of Gary and Lisa Butler.
During school, she participated in National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, Senior Class Vice President.
She participated in WNIL's January Student of the Week, varsity cheerleading.
In her community, she has been a volunteer at YMCA blood drives, tutoring, Lakeland Health Fair.
She plans to attend Michigan State University to study secondary education in history
Rachel Longden
Longden is the daughter of Steve and Cherie Longden.
She is on the All-A Honor Roll
Longden has participated in many service projects through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
She plans to attend Michigan State University to study chemistry.
Thomas Rudolf
Rudolf is the son of Grace and John Rudolf
During school, he has participated in the Spanish Honor Society, Presidential Academic Achievement Award, Berrien County Math/Science Center.
Rudolf has been a Lakeland Hospital volunteer.
He plans to attend the University of Chicago and study physics.
Krystal Ely
Ely is the daughter of Tom and Sandra Ely.
She has participated in the National Honor Society, Honor Roll, Board of Education Academic Award and varsity cheerleading.
She has helped with Red Cross blood drives and penny drives.
She plans to attend Southwestern Michigan College and study physical therapy
Matthew Duckett
Duckett is the son of Mike and Barb Duckett.
During school, he has participated in All-A Honor Roll, academic all-state in football and wrestling, academic all-conference in track, National Honor Society, Spanish honor Society.
His sports achievements include 1st team all-conference running back, 2nd team all-conference Kicker (2006), honorable mention running back (2005), football team Most Valuable Player, team captain.
His community involvement includes Saint Mary's youth room renovation project, Midget League Basketball official, Notre Dame concession stand worker, Brandywine Youth Football Camp.
He plans to attend Tri-State University and study civil engineering.
Justin Price
Price is the son of Alan and Laurie Price.
His school achievements include National Honor Society, Board of Education Academic Award, National Honor Roll, Who's Who Among High School Students.
His sporting achievements include varsity football captain, wrestling, track, Most Valuable Player of 2005 football, WNIL Athlete of the Week, 2006-07 wrestling regional qualifier.
His community involvement includes Lakeland Hospital volunteer, high school landscape project, Reader to Beginners and volunteer help to the elderly.
He plans to attend Ferris State University and major in pharmacology.
