Edwardsburg varsity tennis team ties Bees

BRIDGMAN – The Edwardsburg varsity tennis team had to settle for a 4-4 draw with host Bridgman on Monday in a Lakeland Conference match.
The Eddies won three out of the four singles flights and at No. 3 doubles to account for its four wins.
Tyler Kendle defeated Andrew D'Agustino 7-5 and 6-0 at No. 2 singles, while Adam Young defeated Tyler Allen at No. 3 singles, 6-3, 2-6, 6-3.
At No. 4 singles, Tom Blunier defeated Tyler Carlson 6-0 and 6-1.
Zac Ake and Tudor Gajdev were victorious at No. 3 doubles against Ethan Schaller and Aaron Klug, 6-4, 3-6 and 6-3.

Lady Eddies nip Niles
The Edwardsburg varsity soccer team nipped Niles Monday evening 1-0 in a non-conference match.
The Lady Eddies got a goal in the 14th minute from Amanda Mooth.
Edwardsburg, 2-2-2 overall, will travel to South Haven on Thursday for a non-conference match.
Rangers split with Mustangs
THREE OAKS – The Cassopolis varsity baseball team split a Lakeland Conference doubleheader with host River Valley on Tuesday.
The Rangers won the second game 5-4 after dropping the opener, 8-3.
Leddrew Smith picked up the victory in the nightcap for the Rangers. DaShaun Curtis took the loss in the opener.
A four-run fifth inning led to the Rangers' win in the nightcap.
Zeerip Mr. Wrestling
The Michigan Wrestling Association is proud to announce that Hesperia senior Justin Zeerip has been selected as the 2007 "Mr. Wrestler."
This award is given to the best senior wrestler in Michigan as determined by the Michigan Wrestling Association.
In Zeerip's outstanding high school career, he won four Division 4 state championships while amassing a national record for consecutive wins with a 260-0 record.
Zeerip also registered a national record for career pins with an eye-popping 203. The Hesperia senior recently finished third at the prestigious Senior National Championships and is a two-time AAU Scholastic Duals All-American.
Outside of wrestling, Zeerip was a captain for Hesperia's cross country team that won state championships in 2004 and 2006, and he was Michigan's winner of the Wendy's High School Heisman Award in 2006.
Zeerip will be this year's Co-Valedictorian at Hesperia High School, and will take his perfect 4.0 grade point average to the University of Michigan on a wrestling scholarship this fall.
MHSAA Announces
division alignments
EAST LANSING – The Michigan High School Athletic Association has released its Division alignments for the 2007-08 seasons.
Due to a recent decision by the United States Supreme Court, six sports will be played at different times than in previous years.
Girls' volleyball will now be played in the fall instead of the winter. Girls' basketball switches from fall to winter.
Girls' tennis and golf will switch seasons, as will boys' tennis and golf.
Girls' tennis and boys' golf will now be played in the spring, while boys' tennis and girls' golf will move to the fall.
Boys' and girls' basketball, along with volleyball, are still played under a class structure and not divisions. Football is divided up into eight equal divisions following its nine-week season and 256 postseason qualifiers are established.
