Bobcats split with No. 1 ranked team

NILES – The Brandywine varsity baseball team split a doubleheader with visiting Climax-Scotts Thursday evening in non-conference action.
The Bobcats took the first game win, 14-12, but fell in the second game, 4-3. Game two was called in the sixth inning due to darkness.
Kyle King took the win on the mound for Brandywine in the first game. King threw four scoreless innings in relief for his first varsity win.
Brandywine came back from a 12-3 deficit in the sixth inning to defeat the No. 1 ranked Division 4 team.
Mikel Lindzy led the team at the plate with four hits. Jesse McCombs, Noah Udell and Glen Ferenczi each had two hits.
Cameron Ondresky had a perfect day completed with two more hits to have three on the day.
Dan Reidenbach also collected two hits.
The Bobcats are now 5-3 on the season. Climax Scotts stands at 5-2.
