Bobcats rebound

NILES – After suffering a loss to Edwardsburg last Friday, the Brandywine varsity tennis team rebounded Monday evening with a 7-1 win over Coloma in Lakeland Conference action.
The only loss for the Bobcats came at No. 4 doubles, where Justin Krueger and Jessie Hostleter fell to Brandon DeFord and Nate Conrad, 6-2, 6-4.
In singles play, Tyler Espick took a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles. Billy McDonald came away with a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 2 singles. Travis Bakeman grabbed a 7-5, 7-6 win, while Tyler Weeks was victorious, 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 at No. 3 and 4 singles, respectively.
Jeremy Hechtl and Dan Whitney took a 6-1, 5-7, 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles. Matt Harvey and Joel Perry were victorious at No. 2 doubles, 7-6, 5-7, 7-5. The No. 3 doubles team of Greg Beaver and Ethan Mason took 6-1, 6-2 wins.
The Bobcats will host Eau Claire on Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Plym Park.
