When Tuesday, May 8 comes around, you will not have the excuse 'I didn't know what we were voting for?'
You have, as a voter, the responsibility to learn about the different bond millages which are coming up for election.
Issues have repeatedly been in the newspapers and the various school districts have offered many opportunity for the public to come and learn about the conditions in our schools and what is needed for improvement.
It is so easy to just vote no. No one wants their taxes to go up, but neither do they want their property values to go down. The condition of our schools go hand in hand with our real estate values. Many who are looking to move to a community, look to the schools first.
Whether the buildings are safe and offer a good atmosphere for learning is an essential part in the education which is received.
It is not too late. If you can't make a meeting, call your school administration office and ask for information. Take a tour of the school buildings. Be involved. Don't just mark no in ignorance. Saying no is not the answer to our school's problems.
