NILES – Sixteen applications have been received for the Brandywine Community Schools Superintendent position. It is now the school board's job to condense the list to the top four candidates.
Dale Schrader of the Michigan Leadership Institute asked the board Monday evening to concentrate on four specific areas, as they consider the applications.
He told them to pay close attention to the resume, cover letter, application and references.
"Some of the applicants have included transcripts and other presentations. These four points, however, are the ones they were told to submit and the ones Mr. Schrader suggests you focus on when you view the applications," Karen Weimer, interim assistant superintendent, told the board.
"We're pleased by the number of applications we have received and so is Mr. Schrader. By the April 16 special meeting, the board hopes to have the list down to four to six candidates they will interview. Interviews are scheduled to begin the week of the April 23 and they hope to have an appointment made by May 14," said Chris Zache, administrative secretary.
In other business, it was announced that Auto Tech instructor, Paul Williams has tendered his resignation. He will leave the end of this school year.
"It will be a tough position to fill so we will need to post the job soon," Weimer said.
