Northwood wins four games in Ohio

FINDLAY, Ohio – Northwood University won four games in Ohio over the weekend.
The Timberwolves swept Tiffin in a non-conference game on Friday night, while it took a pair from Findlay College on Saturday in its Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opener.
On Friday in Tiffin, Northwood won 7-6 in 13 innings and 2-1.
On Saturday against Findlay, the Timberwolves won 4-1 and 4-0.
In the second game against Tiffin, former Brandywine standout Reeta Echevarria scored both runs.
Against Findlay on Saturday, Dowagiac's Rachel Minikel stroked a two-run double to give Northwood a 4-0 lead.
In the first game against Findlay, Echevarria was 1-for-4 with a triple, while Minikel was 2-for-3.
Northwood was 11-10 overall and 2-0 in the conference heading into Sunday's doubleheader against Ashland.
LMC baseball
The Lake Michigan College baseball team improved to 7-9 overall with a sweep of Ancilla College on Thursday.
The Indians won the first game 10-0 and then took the second contest, 13-4.
In the opener, Dowagiac freshman David Stuppy was 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs.
Niles' John Kessick struck out seven and allowed one hit in improving his season record to 2-3.
LMC softball
Lake Michigan College split a Western Collegiate Conference doubleheader with visiting Grand Rapids Community College on Thursday.
Grand Rapids won the first game, 1-0.
The Lady Indians rebounded to win the second game, 6-2.
Dowagiac freshman Maureen Pickar was the winning pitcher. Freshman Kim Luthringer, also from Dowagiac, doubled and scored three runs.
Lake Michigan improved to 8-6 overall and 4-2 in league play.
Hope College baseball
Hope College was split a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association doubleheader with Adrian on Saturday.
The Flying Dutchmen dropped the opener 3-2, but won the second game 8-3.
Dowagiac junior Rich Burling scored a run in the second game for Hope.
The Flying Dutchmen are now 10-9 overall and 5-3 in the MIAA.
