Niles JV baseball team opens season with win

NILES – The Niles JV baseball team held its season opener Friday night against Brandywine at Thomas Stadium.
In game one, thr Vikings took a 10-9 win over the Bobcats.
Dominique Pompey was the winning pitcher as well as going 2-for-3 at the plate with a home run and a double.
Also getting two hits apiece for Niles were Anthony Gladden and Cody Maynard.
In the nightcap, Viking pitcher Billy Siderits allowed only two hits in a 6-0 shutout.
Pompey again led Niles at the plate going 2-for-2 and collecting his second home run of the new season. Andrew Brawley doubled for Niles.
The Vikes' next game will be April 10at home against Dowagiac at 4 p.m.
