NILES – The Buchanan junior varsity tennis team defeated St. Joseph Thursday, 5-3. This was the first time the Bucks' JV team defeated the Bears.
Winning singles matches for the Bucks were Pablo Campillo (No. 1), Tyler Toney (No. 2) and Matt Stover (No. 3).
In doubles action, the No. 2 team of Zach Devereaux and Tyler Siebert and the No. 3 team of Kevin Watson and Gabriel Meirelles picked up wins.
The junior Bucks are now 1-0 on the season.
