BUCHANAN – Playing in its fourth game in the past five days, the Buchanan girls varsity soccer team is still in search of its first win of the young season.
Wednesday night, it was a 2-0 loss to South Haven in a non-league contest keeping the win column blank.
"Physically, it's taken a toll," Buchanan coach Jo Schau said. "It's early in the season and there is a lot of jelling that needs to happen. We are building from the defense back, it's not our goal to do that, but our strongest player was in the goal today. We are just waiting for people to step up and take leadership, they have it in their hearts, but they just need to show it on the field."
The Rams took 25 shots on goal with Lady Buck senior Robyn Bahr making several stellar saves to keep the Bucks in the contest.
The Rams defense limited Buchanan to just four shots on goal in the game.
Erica Degrandechamp put the Rams on the board early in the second half finding the back of the net at 42 minute mark.
Five minutes later Marisa Mikusko scored an insurance goal.
Buchanan which falls to 0-4, 0-1 will get back into action on Monday, April 9 after taking next week off for spring break.
