Dowagiac will send 12 wrestlers to the MYWAY state wrestling finals at Michigan State University this weekend.
Advancing to the finals after competition on Sunday in Vicksburg are Ryan Franco, Austin Franco, Derek Collett, Kyle Frese, Rey Vega, Tyler Frese, D.J. Tartt, Ricky Roach, Steven Baylock, Sinjin Ownby, DeShaun Baylock and Kyle Abbott.
At the regional last weekend, Ownby finished second in the 15-16 year-old division. Finishing third were Collett (7-8), Steven Baylock (15-16) and Abbott (17-18).
Taking fourth were Ryan Franco (7-8), Austin Franco (7-8), Kyle Frese (11-12), Tyler Frese (15-16), Tartt (15-16), Roach (15-16) and DeShaun Baylock (17-18).
Vega finished fifth in the 11-12 year-old division.
Wrestling will be held in East Lansing at MSU on Saturday and Sunday.
"Sinjin, Tyler Fresem, DeShaun and Kyle Abbott all had state qualifiers or placers in their brackets," Don Ownby said. "It was an extremely tough regional."
