MIAAA announces state athletic director award winners

Michigan's professional organization of school athletic directors, the Michigan Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (MIAAA) has selected four special service award winners – including the statewide athletic director of the year – as well as 14 regional athletic directors of the year.
All of the award winners will be recognized in Traverse City on March 19 at the annual MIAAA Mid-Winter Conference in which over 500 athletic directors participate.
The 18 winners, as well as links to press releases listing detailed bio information for each winner, are listed below.
The MIAAA is a 46-year-old association with nearly 700 members serving as athletic administrators in numerous high schools and junior high/middle schools in Michigan. As partners with the Michigan High School Athletic Association, the MIAAA works to promote the educational value of interscholastic athletics and the role and profession of athletic director.
Athletic Director of the Year – Karen Leinaar, Benzie Central
Jack Johnson Distinguished Service Award – Jean Bell, Midland Dow
George Lovich Award of Merit – Fred Smith, Comstock
Special Recognition Award – Dr. Carol Hulett, Mt. Clemens
