People of all ages and faiths come to Haiti to answer Christ's call to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, give shelter to the homeless, heal the sick, care for widows and nurture children.
People also come to Haiti to build cross-cultural relationships while offering their time, talents, energy and financial resources to the people.

On May 12, six college students and their pastor from Silver Creek United Methodist Church will join with other young adults and the Rev. David Hills from Coloma/Watervliet United Methodist Church to answer this call and embark on an 11-day life-changing experience to Leon, Haiti.
The trip is organized through Volunteers in Mission (VIM), a program of the General Board of Global Ministries of the United Methodist Church.
Terry Ausra, Jordan Markham, Sarah Ostyn, Brent Swisher and Casey True-Little from Dowagiac, Ryan Hagley from Buchanan and Pastor Mark Thompson of Silver Creek United Methodist Church will be traveling to Leon to clean, seal and paint the outside stairway and walls of a two-story school that was built by United Methodist work teams from South Carolina.
While in Haiti, the group will also stay in Port-au-Prince, visit Grace Children's Hospital and do some sightseeing.
To support these young people on this exciting work and travel experience, the Missions Committee of Silver Creek United Methodist Church is sponsoring a baked potato dinner on Sunday, March 18, from 5 to 7 p.m.
For a free-will donation, guests will be able to create their own gourmet baked potato with all the toppings imaginable, and some that you can't even imagine!
Beverages and homemade desserts will also be served.
Dinner will be served in the fellowship hall of the church, 31994 Middle Crossing Road, Dowagiac.
For further information, contact the church office at 782-7061. All are welcome to come and join us for this fun and unique dining experience that will benefit a great cause.
