The Dowagiac Middle School wrestling team ran into a tough opponent on Wednesday for its final home match of the season.
Dowagiac picked up just nine wins against visiting St. Joe Upton.
Getting a pair of victories for the Chieftains were Steven Baylock and Anthony Nelson.
Earning one win each were Tyler Frese, Tyler Dean, Eric Charles, Brett Smith and Logan Slabaugh.
"We looked like we hadn't wrestled in a while. We need to work to keep getting better on the mat. Hopefully it will all come together for the season-ending tournament at Edwardsburg," Dowagiac coach Andy Crawley said.
Dowagiac will compete for the final time this season in the Edwardsburg Invitational on Saturday.
Wrestling is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
