Tomczak 1-1 for Eastern Michigan

Former Dowagiac standout Kelly Tomczak has compiled a 1-1 record for Eastern Michigan University's softball team.
The Eagles are 3-11 on the season heading into this weekend's competition.
Tomczak has two starts and an earned run average of 2.47, best on the squad.
At the plate, Tomczak is hitting .250 in five games.
Eastern Michigan will travel to Louisville, Ky. for a doubleheader on Saturday.
The Eagles opened the season in Tampa, Fla. Back in February before playing against Florida in Gainesville. Eastern Michigan has also played in Orlando, Fla. and Altamonte Springs, Fla.
Eastern Michigan won the final two games of its Florida swing, topping South Alabama and Virginia Tech.
Western Michigan softball
The Western Michigan softball team has a 6-6 record in the early going this season.
Former Dowagiac standout Jenna Stuppy has started all 12 games for the Lady Broncos and is hitting .313 with a double and six RBIs.
Brittney Reist has started seven games and appeared in 10 games for Western Michigan. She has two home runs and seven RBIs.
Reist also started one game in the circle for the Lady Broncos and is 0-1.
Former Brandywine standout Kelli Zache has appeared in two games, working 2.2 innings with four strikeouts.
Western Michigan opened the season in Temple, Ariz., before heading to Clearwater, Fla. for a tournament.
The Lady Broncos get back in action on March 28 at Oakland University in Rochester.
Northwood softball
Northwood University is 4-6 so far this season.
Dowagiac's Rachel Minikel is hitting .222 with one home run and two RBIs.
Former Brandywine standout Reeta Echevarria is hitting .250 with four RBIs.
LMC softball
Lake Michigan College is 1-1 after its first two games of the 2007 season.
The Lady Indians split a pair of games with Iowa Central at the University of West Florida.
LMC won the first game 6-1, but dropped the second game 0-2.
Lake Michigan College is in Florida until March 18.
The Lady Indians will be back in action on March 24 when it hosts Muskegon Community College.
