WHITE PIGEON – Sign-ups are this Saturday for the spring league of the Michigan In-Line Hockey Association.
Boys and girls, age 6 to 18 years old, can participate in the league hockey play by registering at White Pigeon High School between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.
According to league president Joe Komins, "We typically have about 120 kids join the league. We have practices in April and play matches in May and June. We'll have a banquet at the end of June."
Players come from across Cass and St. Joseph counties in Michigan and even from Elkhart County (Ind.) to play.
He added, "In-line hockey is less physical than traditional hockey. The game is played with more speed and finesse. It is a great game for both boys and girls. The kids have a lot of fun."
The cost is $30 per person.
