Dowagiac's basketball wrapped up one of its best seasons in school history on Wednesday night when it was eliminated by undefeated and No. 2 ranked Lakeshore in the Class B District semifinals.
The Chieftains put together an 18-4 season and a Wolverine Conference championship.
Dowagiac rebounded from a 4-17 season in 2005-06 and won more games this year for Coach Greg Blomgren than all of his previous three teams did together.
Dowagiac was led by its seniors for the most part.
Chris Primley and Amos Clark led the team in scoring with an average of 14.7 points per game. Primley also led the team in rebounding with an average of 7.1 caroms per contest.
Senior Oscar Wilson was the team's top 3-point shooter with 42. Wilson connected on 35 percent of his 3-point attempts, also tops on the team.
Primley shot 58 percent from the field to lead the team in overall shooting. Clark led the team in assists with 83 and steals with 68.
Clark was also the top free throw shooter for the Chieftains, hitting on 68 percent of his attempts.
