NILES – Niles Main Street is seeking to locate interesting performers to create life and energy during the June 23 Arts in Motion, the new arts and entertainment event set on Main Street in historic downtown Niles.
Many types of talent will be needed to create the exciting atmosphere that will set the bar for Arts in Motion – a celebration of the arts showcasing the finest and most unique wood, glass, clay, ceramic, painting, metal, photography, fiber and fabrics, folk art and other creations by artisans in Niles and surrounding areas.
The organizers are interested in finding artisans who are able to demonstrate their craft for a limited time during the event, such as painters, felters, potters, wood turners and glass flame workers. Niles Main Street is also looking for musicians, dancers, jugglers, mimes, palm readers, puppeteers, storytellers, balloon artists and more.
To obtain entry or for more information, contact Meg Truesdell, event chair, at Red Shoe Jewelry and Apparel, 216 E. Main St., Niles, (269) 684-1244, or the Niles Main Street office at 210 E. Main St., second floor, Niles, (269) 687-4332, nilesmainstreet@sbcglobal.net.
Deadline for submission is Friday, May 11.
There is no artist entry fee. Entries in the juried all-media show must be original.
Live auditions may be scheduled, however videotape and DVD auditions will also be accepted. Niles Main Street asks that taped auditions be no longer than 10 minutes in length and be mailed by April 9. Please include contact information including phone or email. Videos or discs can be sent to:
