Vikes fall to Mattawan on the road, face Benton Harbor Friday

NILES – Class A honorable mention Mattawan handed visiting Niles a 65-54 loss Wednesday night in a SMAC West Division make-up game.
Vikes' head coach Todd Pawielski said even though his team lost, he was still very pleased with their performance on the court.
"The kids played a very nice ball game against a very physical, very good Mattawan team. I am very proud of them for their effort," Pawielski said.
Jordan Parks led Niles in scoring with 14 points on the night. Danny Rodts added 12 points and five rebounds. Jonathan Smith, who played his third game this season after suffering a bad injury, scored seven points. Damian Bryant had seven points and two steals.
The Niles junior varsity team fell to Mattawan, 69-50.
The Vikes are back in action on Friday when they host Benton Harbor for the final game of the regular season. It is also Senior Night. Tip- off for the varsity game is set for 7:30 p.m. Freshmen will begin at 4:15 p.m. with JV beginning at 5:45 p.m.
