Winning streak comes to an end

The 12-game winning streak of the Dowagiac freshmen basketball team came to an end Wednesday night in overtime.
The Chieftains were defeated for the second time this year by Comstock. The visiting Colts edged the Chieftains 69-65.
Brandon Douglas had 30 points in a losing effort.
The Chieftains, who played without two players, also got 17 points from Damone Huff and eight points each from Cody Cox and Pierre Reed.
Dowagiac will travel to Otsego on Friday night for its final road game of the season. The game is slated to begin at 4:15 p.m.

Visiting Comstock outscored Dowagiac 21-13 in the fourth quarter to defeat the Chieftains 61-53 on Wednesday night.
Dowagiac trailed much of the contest, but caught the Colts at 40-40 heading into the final period.
Shaun Bruens led Dowagiac with 27 points.
Dowagiac also got 10 points from Michael Filley and six points from Greg Nelson.
The Chieftains will travel to Otsego on Friday night. Tip-off is set for 5:45 p.m.
