CASSOPOLIS – Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr. reports that on Sunday, Feb. 18, at approximately 2 p.m., the Cass County Sheriff's Office responded to a personal-injury accident at the intersection of M-60 and M-40 in Newberg Township.
Travis Beer, 17, was northbound on M-40 and had stopped at the intersection of M-60.
Beer then proceeded into the intersection and collided with an eastbound vehicle driven by Morris Hayden, 88, of Jones.
Hayden received minor injuries in the crash and was transported to Three Rivers Area Hospital for treatment.
Beer was uninjured, as were two other passengers in his vehicle.
Seatbelts were worn. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
Assisting at the scene were Newberg ambulance and Newberg Fire Department.
