NILES – Cassopolis' John McCoy and John Grice both won Division 4 individual district wrestling championships on Saturday at Covert High School.
McCoy and Grice will advance to the next round, along with teammates Corey Lowe, Mike DeGraff and Darby Kelly.
McCoy captured the 145-pound championship, while Grice won the 285-pound title.
Lowe was second at 140-pounds, while DeGraff was third at 171-pounds and Kelly fourth at 189-pounds.
Brandywine had one lone champion as Jeremy Hechtl captured the 215-pound crown. Bryon Fisher and Justin Price were second at 103- and 152-pounds respectively.
Finishing third for the Bobcats were Anthony Aguilar (125) and Chase Molica (135). Finishing fourth was Pat Van Laere (125).
Decatur had four district champions: John Burns (140), Robert Hall (160), Matt Johnson (171) and Jordan Rasmussen (285).
Finishing second for the Raiders were Aaron Marner (125) and Kenny Hegenell(160). Taking fourth were D.J. Harris (112) and Lucas Mackeller (171).
The top four wrestlers in each weight class advance to the regional tournament next Saturday at Bangor High School.
