NILES – The Niles varsity volleyball team was defeated in three games by state ranked Coldwater on Thursday night.
The Lady Cardinals, who are an honorable mention pick in the latest poll, defeated the Lady Vikings 25-21, 25-21 and 25-9.
Kaylynn Stephenson led Niles with seven kills. She also had seven digs and two aces.
Mehgen Flynn finished the match with six kills, while Brittney Wolverton added four kills.
Samantha Brawley paced the Lady Vikings with 17 digs.
Maddy Peterek contributed eight digs, three aces and 14 assists.
Niles is back in action on Saturday when it competes in the St. Joseph Invitational. Play is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
